About the event
After much anticipation, it is with great excitement that we are pleased to announce Project EcoMusic's inaugural concert, Regarding Insects! Join us on May 6th, 2022 at 7:30 PM at the First Congregational Church of Winchester, Massachusetts for a stellar program of new music by composers Emily Koh, Peter Scoma, Joseph Sowa, and myself, inspired by the fascinating world of insects.
In late 2019, Project EcoMusic and the First Congregational Church of Winchester collaborated to create Winchester's first Monarch reserve, otherwise known as a Monarch Waystation. This designated and protected plot of land is registered to the Monarch Butterfly Watch program, a national organization that monitors the species during their remarkable annual migration. Project EcoMusic commissioned four new compositions in celebration of Winchester's Monarch Waystation. The music at this concert will portray a variety of fascinating insect species and even entomophagy (the consumption insects).
